About

I’m Matthew Elmslie. I live in Canada and I’m a writer. Thanks for looking at my website; you didn’t have to do that and I appreciate it.

Right now I’m working on my first novel. It’s called Ded & Sac and it’s about superheroes. I started this site to help spread the word about it and anything else I will write or have written.

Originally I wasn’t going to announce anything until I actually had something ready to show you. It’s easy to sound like a big shot and say that I’m writing a book; it’s a lot harder to actually write it and and publish it. So the idea of this website is not to make it seem like I’ve done something that I haven’t done.

It’s for two other reasons. First, there’s no harm in getting the word out as early as possible; once Ded & Sac is ready to go, I want it to have a good running start. Second, now that I’ve said in front of you that I’m writing it and am going to publish it, I pretty much have to do it. Don’t let me get away with slacking off!

It’s going to be a long process, obviously, and I don’t even know what all the steps are yet. Right now I’m planning on publishing it independently through Lulu or a similar service; the idea appeals to me in several ways.

That’s the long run. In the short run, I hope that this website provides some diversion for all of us; I plan on posting things frequently. Please feel free to keep track of what I’m up to through Facebook or Twitter or the RSS feed or all three if you’re of a mind to.

Promise not to let you become a slacker. No doubt, coming from your mother, this will be called ‘nagging’. Too bad. Love, Me xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Wow! This post sounds so suspiciously like my life I’m beginning to wonder if some mad scientist cloned one of us. Your Sliced Bread 2 sounds a bit like what I’m trying now (I’m cursed with unoriginal ideas). Good luck with your novel.

Good luck with the writing! Drop by and tell me when you’re finished, as I’m always interested in new superhero novels.
